How the math works

Touch time = avg hours per RO ÷ (effective hours per day × 0.7 WIP parallelism factor). It estimates real bay-time, not calendar days.

Delta = calendar cycle – touch time. Every delta day usually means waiting on parts, approvals, or QC — and that's where cycle time is actually won or lost.

Rental waste = (delta days × rental rate × ROs). What the carrier is paying because the vehicle is sitting, not being worked on. DRP scorecards punish this.
